Free visitor information is available at the main Visitor Information Center and the Riverfront Booth, as well as at seasonal visitor centers in Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach.
The main Visitor Information Center (open year-round) is located in an authentic 1883 freight warehouse at 505 Nutt Street, Unit A, just a few doors down from the Wilmington Railroad Museum. The main Visitor Information Center is open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM and Sunday 1 to 4 PM. It's only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Riverfront Booth is located at the foot of Market Street at Water Street and operates on a seasonal schedule: April and May 9 AM to 4:30 PM; June through August 9:30 AM to 5 PM; September and October 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
The visitor center on Pleasure Island (serves Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) is located at Carolina Beach Town Hall (1121 N. Lake Park Avenue, Carolina Beach) and is open year-round Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, with extended hours from April to mid-October of Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM; Sunday 1 PM to 4 PM.
