Attractions

Several attractions mark Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and the Fort Fisher, N.C., area. Find miles of glorious, sandy North Carolina beaches, rhythmic ocean waves and the newly restored Carolina Beach boardwalk. Most of the attractions in this small, family-oriented community are of the natural variety, including surf fishing, charter boat excursions and walking, hiking or camping at Carolina Beach State Park.  The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is good for sunny or rainy days. The Fort Fisher State Park and Historic Site has walking tours, a small maritime forest and an indoor museum and theater. About 13 miles up the road, Wilmington hosts the Battleship North Carolina, Cape Fear Museum of History and numerous other attractions.
